    The Kit Collab is The Kit’s new in-house integrated marketing and sales team. It consists of The Kit employees who are strictly focused on increasing revenue from both traditional and integrated media opportunities. The Kit Collab team will bridge The Kit’s sales agencies and clients with The Kit content team to create the most innovative, collaborative, integrated and authentic opportunities possible. The Kit Collab is nimble and dynamic—a modern team for modern client needs.




    The Collab Designer is at the center of creativity within The Kit Collab. With the team, the Designer brainstorms new innovative media concepts that are both efficient to produce and effective in ROI from a content perspective. The Designer is able to visually covert that idea from concept into creation through mocking up the design and planning out the components. He/she works with the Collab team to turn this into a packaged presentation, which is taken direct to market. Once the project sells, the Designer works with the project director and creative director to creatively debrief and provide client insight. Additionally, the Designer will work with cross-functional Collab team to design and creatively plan the basis of events and marketing materials distributed across Canada.


    This role, reporting to the Collab Director and liaising with the Creative Director, includes the following breakdown of responsibilities:



    • New media opportunities: brainstorms and conceptualizes creative new opportunities that could be beneficial to The Kit and its platforms from a revenue and marketing standpoint (ie. new subscriber concepts, new IG galleries, new website tools, etc.), that are presented to the Collab team in regular brainstorms
    • Client creative liaison: on RFPs and client calls, attend meetings to listen and gather creative input that will ultimately inform creative and content strategy. Work with the Collab to brainstorm offerings and to find the right creative approach for the plan.
    • Team project liaison: work with the project director and Art team on creative debriefs once projects are sold. This involves providing thorough documentation of deliverables along with client objectives and brand promises.


    DESIGNS: the designer is responsible for creating early concept and design work for substantial custom projects and integration opportunities within The Kit. This includes (but is not limited to):

    • Mockups: build print, digital & new assets outside of the current portfolio, building strategy and concept from start to mock
    • Proposals: build custom decks fit for each clients’ wants and needs to lead to conversions and purchase


    CREATES: the designer creates the following B2B and B2C assets for final use:

    • House ads: work with the marketing team to proactively push out new campaigns, both within and beyond The Kit network. This includes: social media videos and concepts, targeted programmatic ad units, partnership materials, etc.
    • Materials: work with the publisher and Collab director to build custom sales materials, including media kits, editorial calendars, 1-pagers, sales catalogues, etc.
    • Contesting materials: create digital elements for all portions of marketing campaigns, including grid & features, eBlasts, contest ads, etc.
    • Event materials: create assets from pre-event to event to post-event, working with the Collab to direct the visual theme of the evening with the support of the creative director



    • Select custom projects: upon request by the publisher and as allocated by the project director, work on select custom projects to resize ad pages, on advertorials, etc.
    • Custom social shots: art direct and shoots Instagram campaigns, working with the digital editorial team on concept that ultimately drives high engagement on work. Brainstorms new inspiration and photo techniques to evolve social brand image.
    • Marketing initiatives: own custom sales and marketing projects, working with the Collab and marketing to gather material and design, within the workflow parameters of the Collab (ie. The Kit Column, etc.)



    • Custom projects: shoot Instagram projects, grid & feature off-figure assets, etc. for clients as assigned through the project director on an ad hoc basis
    • Digital initiatives: work with the Collab team to find ways to drive engagement and numbers timed to core marketing plans (ie. Oscars prep, etc.)
